M1 preliminary project – structural engineering

Summary

GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research is procuring structural engineering design services for the restoration of the fire-damaged VR building envelope in Darmstadt. The work covers the roof structure, new fire walls and slab openings, reconstruction of the BR2/VR bridge, and foundations for an enclosure for three transformers. Design services cover phases 1–6, with selected additional services including construction-stage inspections; the building section is approximately 114 m by 11 m.
