Drinking water analysis and Legionella control in municipal facilities

Summary

The contract covers drinking-water quality testing and Legionella prevention and control at municipal buildings and facilities in Faura. The work includes collecting water samples, transporting them to a laboratory and analysing them, uploading results to the national drinking-water information system, and training, advising and supervising municipal staff carrying out routine checks. Any detected physicochemical or microbiological non-compliance in drinking water must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the results, and the analytical results must be delivered within 10 days. For Legionella work, the contractor must prepare and implement a prevention and control plan covering all listed facilities within one month of contract signature. The plan and records must be reviewed regularly, updated monthly and retained for at least five years. The service includes periodic inspections, cleaning and disinfection, water treatment and sampling, as well as technical interpretation of results and risk assessment. The sites are the multipurpose sports pavilion, football ground, municipal swimming pool, Carrer de la Pilota facility, slaughterhouse, seniors’ centre and Protectora facility. Preventive treatment at the swimming pool must take place in May before it opens. Extraordinary cleaning and disinfection and necessary additional sampling are included in the contract price. The technical schedule provides for 108 analyses, 7 treatments, 15 post-treatment analyses, 4 inspection days and 1 plan. The bid form allows an offer of either 15 or 10 post-treatment analyses. The bidder must meet the required laboratory and personnel competence requirements and provide evidence concerning registered biocidal products; further details are set out in the qualification summary. The estimated contract value is EUR 28,858.20, and the procurement uses a simplified open procedure.
