Acquisition of CO₂ removal units to offset ICEX’s 2025 emissions

Summary

The contract covers the purchase of carbon dioxide removal units to offset ICEX’s greenhouse gas emissions for 2025, totalling 1,968.61 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. The units must come from projects registered with the Spanish Climate Change Office. The contractor must transfer the units to ICEX on an exclusive basis, arrange their cancellation and the registration of the offset, and provide documents proving the transfer, cancellation, registration and traceability of the units. The project’s removals must be maintained for the 30-year period required by the register. The offset covers Scope 1 and 2 emissions and, voluntarily, Scope 3 emissions associated with business travel. The contract runs for two months from signature; the expected period is 15 December 2026 to 15 February 2027. The maximum budget is EUR 42,350 including VAT (EUR 35,000 excluding VAT). Price is the sole award criterion. Bids must be submitted electronically in two envelopes within 10 calendar days of publication of the contract notice.
