Maintenance of Firefighters’ Intervention Suits

Summary

The procurement covers a comprehensive maintenance service for firefighters’ intervention suits at Aena airports and the Region of Murcia International Airport. The work includes logistics, at least annual inspection of the suits, including jackets and trousers, cleaning and decontamination, repairs, restoration of the water-repellent finish, final inspection and certification that each suit is fit for use. User and role identification patches may also need to be made or printed. The contractor must follow manufacturers’ instructions and applicable standards, preserve the suits’ protective properties, and arrange collection and return to the airports. The return period is up to 7 calendar days for mainland airports and 15 calendar days for other airports; a replacement suit must be supplied on request if a delay is anticipated. The contract lasts 12 months and may be extended for two further one-year periods. The budget is EUR 139,510 excluding taxes, and the estimated total value including extensions is EUR 418,530 excluding VAT. Bidders must demonstrate that they have the required personnel and technical resources, hold a valid ISO 9001 or equivalent quality certificate, and have evidence of authorization or capability from at least one suit manufacturer.
