Group Accident Insurance for University of Malaga Students

Summary

The University of Malaga is procuring group accident insurance in two lots: Lot 1 covers students over 28 enrolled in undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes (estimated 4,977 people); Lot 2 covers students over 55 (estimated 2,940 people). Cover applies during academic activities and university-organised academic, scientific, informational, sporting and cultural activities, as well as travel to and from those activities, worldwide. Core benefits include accidental death (€6,000), permanent disability (up to €12,000) and medical expenses: unlimited treatment at the insurer’s contracted centres in Spain for up to 365 days, and reimbursement at freely chosen centres up to €3,000 in Spain and €6,000 abroad. The aggregate limit for claims arising from one accident is €5,000,000. Typical policy exclusions include professional sports, accidents directly caused by intoxication or non-prescribed drugs, participation in criminal acts, intentional or self-inflicted injuries, and extraordinary risks. The contract runs from 13 December 2026 to the end of the 2026/2027 academic year. It may be extended once for the 2027/2028 academic year and, in exceptional circumstances, for up to nine months while a replacement contract is arranged. The tender budget is €29,688.75 excluding taxes and charges; the estimated contract value is €83,128.50 on the same basis. Bidders must submit an offer for the lot or lots they wish to bid for and demonstrate the relevant financial and technical capacity. All award criteria are scored automatically: price 60%; increased accidental-death benefit 12.5%; increased disability benefit 12.5%; increased medical-expense limit 10%; and optional legal and tax advice and funeral-cost cover together 5%. The offer must state the annual premium per student and show applicable taxes and charges separately.
