Virtual reality equipment, software and occupational safety training experiences

Summary

MAZ is procuring four standalone virtual-reality headsets with accessories, together with software and seven bespoke virtual-reality experiences to raise awareness and provide training on occupational risk prevention. The headsets must meet minimum specifications including 2064 × 2208 pixels per eye, a field of view greater than 96 degrees, a Snapdragon XR2 or equivalent processor, Wi-Fi 6E, USB-C charging, at least 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of DRAM. The solution must operate as a standalone system, support Unity or Unreal Engine, allow remote and automatic updates, and include interactive learning and assessment tools, performance reports, MAZ branding and user training. MAZ is to receive the software exploitation rights. The equipment must be delivered within 30 calendar days of MAZ’s request; development and implementation of the experiences must be completed within eight months. Equipment and licences have a minimum 12-month warranty, while software maintenance and support continue for 48 months from commissioning. The estimated budget is €103,355 excluding VAT (€125,059.55 including VAT). The maximum unit price is €14,265 per VR experience and €875 per headset kit. Price carries 80 points; completion of development and implementation within six months earns 10 points, and offering one additional year of warranty earns 10 points. Bids must be submitted electronically and include prices for every unit. To participate, bidders must demonstrate annual turnover of at least €103,355 excluding VAT in their best year among the last three available financial years and successful delivery of similar services in 2023–2025, supported by three pieces of evidence. The training team must meet the specified experience requirements for VR, occupational risk prevention and project management.
