Request for information / market dialogue: Laboratory services for Mikkeli regional environmental services 2027–2028 (2029 option)

Summary

The City of Mikkeli is seeking market feedback on a planned laboratory services procurement for the Mikkeli regional environmental services, covering the analysis of water and food samples. Services would be needed for, among other things, drinking water, bathing and swimming pool water, and food. The planned contract period is two years, with an option to extend for one additional year; service delivery could begin on 1 January 2027. The laboratory is expected to provide accredited analyses and be approved to analyse official samples, and to transfer results for official samples to the VATI information system. Other important considerations include readiness to respond to environmental health incidents, convenient delivery or dispatch of samples, sufficient service coverage, an on-call arrangement and the ability to conduct analyses outside normal working hours. The contracting authority invites comments on matters such as the contract duration, service arrangements, cooperation, required equipment and systems, conditions for selecting a service provider, and pricing. This is a market consultation, not a contract notice or invitation to tender: bids are not being requested, and responding is neither a prerequisite for taking part in a future procurement nor a factor affecting a bidder’s position.
