Market dialogue: Electrical design for phase 4 of the AaltoAlvari renovation

Summary

The City of Jyväskylä is preparing a procurement of design services for phase 4 of the renovation and extension of the AaltoAlvari water sports centre. This is a market dialogue, not a contract notice or invitation to submit a bid. The design concerns a protected building complex designed by Alvar Aalto and must take account of its cultural heritage value, technical systems, user needs and the aim of keeping swimming activities running as extensively as possible during construction. The planned services cover project planning, detailed design, preparation of construction tender materials and design work during construction. The preliminary schedule envisages project planning in 2027, detailed design and preparation of the construction tender in 2028, and construction in 2029–2030. Market participants are invited to review draft procurement documents and submit written comments by 21 October 2026. Participation in the dialogue does not commit a participant to submitting a bid in a later procurement, nor does it commit the contracting authority to proceeding with the procurement as described.
