Market dialogue: Structural design for phase 4 of the AaltoAlvari renovation

Summary

This is a market dialogue, not a contract notice. The City of Jyväskylä is preparing a procurement of design services for phase 4 of the renovation and extension of the AaltoAlvari aquatic centre and invites market participants to review draft procurement documents and submit written comments by 21 October 2026. The planned services include project planning, detailed design, preparation of tender pricing documents and design tasks during construction. The building was designed by Alvar Aalto and is protected, so the work must take account of its cultural heritage values, preservation requirements, technical functionality and user needs, while enabling swimming services to continue as extensively as possible during construction. The preliminary schedule envisages project planning in 2027, detailed design and preparation of the construction tender in 2028, and construction in 2029–2030. Participation in the market dialogue does not oblige a participant to submit a bid in a later procurement, nor does it oblige the contracting authority to proceed with the procurement as currently planned.
