Tender detail
Cable maintenance service for ETS communications and signalling installations
Summary
The contract covers comprehensive maintenance of the communications and signalling cables on railway lines managed by ETS. The work includes periodic inspection and upkeep of fibre-optic and copper cables, monitoring the fibre network through its software, fault repairs, and partial cable replacement or expansion where needed. Preventive work is generally carried out at night; work near overhead railway power lines requires arranging for the overhead line to be de-energised. The contractor must provide 24/7 availability for urgent faults: attend urgent call-outs within 1.5 hours and restore an urgent fibre fault to at least partial working order within one hour after repair work begins. A routine maintenance crew is expected to comprise at least three people; at least two technicians must be available for round-the-clock call-outs. The team must have experience maintaining similar railway cabling, and a qualified person approved by ETS must be able to arrange overhead-line power cuts. The contract runs for four years, with an optional one-year extension. The technical specification’s price schedule gives a four-year total of EUR 603,000, or EUR 150,750 per year: EUR 94,000 for preventive maintenance, EUR 400,000 for corrective work and materials, and EUR 109,000 for availability. Bidders must provide the requested prices for work and materials and submit the required declarations and European Single Procurement Document. No specific turnover threshold or reference requirement is stated in the supplied documents; check the tender documents for confirmation.
