Pest Control Services at the National Art Museum of Catalonia

Summary

The tender covers comprehensive pest-control services at the premises of the National Art Museum of Catalonia: implementing an integrated pest-management system; monitoring or treating rodents, cockroaches, mosquitoes, termites, silverfish, wasps, bees and ants; installing and maintaining illuminated insect traps; identifying captured insects; maintaining records; responding to urgent incidents; and training museum staff. The service must protect people, the environment and artworks, and any biocides used must be authorised and applied in accordance with safety requirements. Preventive mosquito-larva treatment is required at least 14 times a year from April to October at approximately 65 points. Rodent inspections are generally monthly, as are silverfish monitoring checks; there are currently three termite monitoring points. Cockroach monitoring covers 11 external inspection chambers and internal problem areas. Up to 12 on-demand treatments per year are provided for wasps, bees and ants; a beekeeper must remove bees at the contractor’s expense. The 12 illuminated traps in artwork storage areas require five maintenance visits per year, and six additional traps in offices and the catering area must also be maintained. Insects found by museum staff must be collected and identified within 24 hours when requested. Urgent incidents may require a response within 3 hours, with a usual maximum response time of 24 hours. Service records, monitoring history and reports must be accessible to the museum in real time. Special termite treatment is outside the contract price and will be separately priced. The contract runs from 2 January 2027 to 1 January 2029, with an option to extend for up to two years. The total budget is €64,109.43 including VAT. The contract is not divided into lots. Offers are scored out of 100 points: up to 40 for the action programme and other quality aspects and up to 60 for price. Bidders must meet the turnover, relevant experience and staff qualification requirements.
