Children’s playground construction in Constitution Square

Summary

The tender is for construction of a new children’s playground in Constitution Square in Alagón. The work includes preparing the play area, installing play equipment and carrying out the necessary ground, foundation and safety-surface works. The equipment is to include a multi-play unit with features such as a swing, access ladder, walkways, slide and rope ladders. The works also include a silica-sand surface with an average depth of 40 cm, perimeter edging and a defined safety zone. An independent company, separate from the works contractor, will certify the playground and safety areas against applicable requirements, including standards UNE-EN 1176 and UNE-EN 1177. The contract is not divided into lots. Evaluation awards up to 45 points for price, 15 for extending the warranty (5 points per additional year beyond the five-year minimum), 30 for shortening the completion period, and 5 for providing four quarterly playground inspections during the first year. A further 5 points are available for supplying and installing two benches and two bins at the contractor’s expense: 2 points for an improvement worth at least €1,000, 4 for at least €1,500 and 5 for at least €2,000. The offer must include a price breakdown and a pro forma invoice or equivalent supporting document for this improvement. Bidders must demonstrate the required turnover and relevant construction experience. The contractor must maintain an operating base, logistics depot or technical service within 100 km of Alagón and respond to reported incidents, sending a technician to the site if necessary, within 48 hours. Materials should generally be sourced from within 150 km. A site visit is required, but failure to make the visit cannot by itself disqualify an offer; the visit must be requested at least 10 calendar days before the bid deadline. The successful bidder must provide a final guarantee equal to 5% of its final offered price.
