Elkonniemi dam embankment

Summary

Raahen Satama Oy is commissioning a new perimeter embankment for a disposal basin at Elkonniemi in the Port of Raahe. The embankment will have a moraine core with rock armour and will be built over the existing seabed; a toe trench will be dredged for the rock armour to one metre below the load-bearing seabed. The northern embankment is designed to allow the adjacent fairway to be deepened later to a 12-metre navigation depth, corresponding to the N2000 level of −13.90, without disturbing the embankment.
