Tender detail

Self-generation power systems for the new CPC research building

Summary

The tender covers the installation of photovoltaic systems for the Technical University of Braunschweig’s new CPC research building: panels are to be installed on the building roofs and a car park canopy, with the required cabling, inverters, distribution equipment and grid connections, followed by testing and commissioning. The work also includes technical documentation and the maintenance, inspection, minor repair and technical operation of the PV systems. The planned installation comprises 629 modules rated up to 0.5 kWp on the roofs and 528 modules on the car park canopy. Modules must be bifacial glass-glass units with demonstrably low glare because the site is near an airport. The specified module efficiency is above 19.5%, and inverter efficiency must be at least 98%. The bid must include glare measurements or an expert assessment; modules used as canopy roofing also require approval for overhead installation. Structural calculations must be submitted and approved by the structural engineer before installation starts. The bidder must provide personnel qualified for the work, including a senior installer present throughout construction to coordinate the installation. The tender documents also require evidence of authorization to work near an airport, technical product data, and approvals and quality evidence recognized in Germany. Maintenance includes continuous 24/7 remote monitoring. For faults affecting energy yield, measures to resolve the fault must begin within 48 hours; ordinarily, where spare parts are available, repairs should be completed within the following three working days. The maintenance term is four years, with minimum liability insurance cover of EUR 1,000,000 for property damage, EUR 500,000 for financial loss and EUR 2,000,000 for personal injury.
