Handling and internal relocation of historical records at the Navy Historical Archive

Summary

The procurement covers the careful handling and internal relocation of historical records from three repositories—Lepanto, Terceras and Vigón—at the Álvaro de Bazán site of the Spanish Navy Historical Archive. The work includes removing approximately 16,000 archival bundles from the shelves, placing them in storage cages supplied by the bidder and moving them to the archive basement for temporary storage. Approximately 10,000 standard preservation boxes must then be placed on the cleared shelves. The contractor must replace any cotton ties broken during handling with white ties; this is estimated to affect no more than 2% of the bundles. The contractor must return the storage cages no later than the end of the contract. The service will be performed in El Viso del Marqués. The contract runs from 15 October 2026, or the later contract-signing date, until 30 November 2026 or earlier exhaustion of the available funds. The budget is €50,000 including VAT, and price is the sole award criterion. Bidders must provide certificates proving previous experience in similar work, particularly in institutional settings or the Armed Forces, and appoint a project director to coordinate the work.
