Management of Zamudio Municipal Library and reading promotion activities

Summary

The contract is for managing the Zamudio Municipal Library and delivering activities that promote reading. The work includes assisting visitors and responding to information requests; administering loans, including interlibrary loans; maintaining the collection and proposing additions; cataloguing new materials; and supporting the day-to-day operation of the library’s premises and services. The contractor will also organise cultural and reading activities, assist with grant applications, and deliver at least one activity per month planned for distinct age groups. The library is located in the Zamudiotorre building at 2 Elexalde Square. At least one staff member must be assigned to the service. That person must hold the required qualification in library or information science or history, have sufficient spoken and written Basque for the duties, and be able to use the library management system and information technology. Staff working with minors must provide a negative certificate from the sexual offenders register before starting work. The bid must include a technical project or description and a work-organisation plan. The initial contract term is 12 months, with two possible extensions of 12 months each. Existing staff are subject to transfer: according to the 2026 information, two librarians are listed, with annual gross salaries of €28,166.64 at 88.22% working time and €5,551.74 at 16.40% working time, respectively.
