Art project competition for a Christmas installation in Burgos

Summary

The City of Burgos is holding a jury-led art project competition to select a large-scale Christmas installation for Rey San Fernando Square as part of the 2026 Christmas programme. This competition selects the project; negotiations for the subsequent artistic services contract to create the work will then begin with the winner. The installation must be on public display from 18:00 on 19 December 2026 until 23:59 on 3 January 2027, for at least 15 days and 6 hours. The maximum project budget is EUR 99,999.24 including VAT. Eligible participants include natural persons aged 18 or over, companies, and artists or artistic collectives that meet the legal and capacity requirements. Each participant may submit one application and one project. The project must be submitted anonymously and include a motivation letter, a detailed artistic and technical project, an implementation plan and schedule, location plans, and a cost breakdown. Participants must also submit an application, a responsible declaration, the creator’s CV, and a portfolio. The jury will assess artistic quality and innovation (35 points), technical feasibility (30), sustainability and energy efficiency (15), and budget justification (20). The winner must demonstrate the required financial and technical capacity and compliance with tax and Social Security obligations, and provide the required documents within 10 working days after being notified of the award.
