Mechanised shredding of forestry residues in the Alto Tajo and Cuenca forests
Summary
The contract covers the mechanised shredding and even spreading of suitable woody and other vegetation residues left after felling at five public forests in the Guadalajara and Cuenca areas: 15.86 ha at Buenafuente de Sistal, 24.87 ha at Dehesa del Campo, 7.93 ha at Quemarrama, Umbría Negra and Villares, 16.02 ha at Propiedades, and 24.94 ha at Valtablado. The total area is 89.62 ha. The work is intended to reduce combustible vegetation, improve access through the forest and help return organic matter to the soil. It must be carried out using a forestry tractor fitted with a chain or flail mulcher; the specified residue density is no more than 8 tonnes per hectare, the slope no more than 10%, and the ground must be free of stones. After shredding, the tender specifications limit residue size to 15 cm in length and 3 cm in diameter. The execution period is two months from signature of the site-setting-out inspection record. For exceptional reasons outside the contractor’s control, it may be extended by up to one month. Preventive works during the high forest-fire-risk period from June through September require express authorisation. The bid submission deadline is 16 October 2026 at 13:59. The maximum tender budget is EUR 52,654.44 including VAT (EUR 43,516.07 excluding VAT). Price is the sole award criterion; the unit price must not exceed the stated ceiling, and bids must be submitted electronically. No minimum financial or technical/professional solvency or tender/performance guarantee is required, but bidders must meet the registration and declaration requirements and provide the necessary workforce, machinery, transport capacity and liability insurance.
