Installation of Dynamic Slope Protection Barriers at the Cuevas del Almanzora and Benínar Dams

Summary

The contract covers the installation of 990 m² of dynamic mesh barriers to protect against rockfalls on the slopes of the Cuevas del Almanzora and Benínar dams in Almería province. The works comprise four barrier types: 210 m² rated at 100 kJ and 3 m high, 180 m² at 500 kJ and 3 m, 360 m² at 1,000 kJ and 4 m, and 240 m² at 2,000 kJ and 5 m. The works must comply with ETAG 27. The contracting entity supplies the materials at the worksite; the contractor provides the machinery, drilling and lifting equipment, compressor and workforce needed for installation. Installation of the posts and mesh may not be subcontracted. The estimated contract value is EUR 234,016.20 excluding VAT (EUR 283,159.60 including 21% VAT). The bid must cover the complete works and every unit price; unit prices must not exceed the stated ceilings, and a zero-total bid is not permitted. Price carries up to 85 points and a shorter execution period up to 15 points. The works are to be completed within two months, within a contract term of five months. The work plan is due within five days of receiving the commencement notice, and work must begin within ten days. Bidders must demonstrate annual turnover of at least EUR 187,300 and comparable-work experience worth at least EUR 163,900, or provide the specified contractor classification. Bids must be submitted electronically. The successful bidder must provide a performance guarantee, normally equal to 5% of the contract award value.
