Collection and recovery of waste wood 2027

Summary

The procurement covers the provision of containers, collection, transport, pre-treatment and recovery or disposal of waste wood received in 2027 at the waste management centre in Mechernich-Strempt. The wood comprises categories I–III and category IV under the German Waste Wood Ordinance, and the service must be delivered as a whole. Treatment and final recovery or disposal must take place at authorised facilities; the bidder must name and describe the relevant treatment and recovery or disposal facilities in its bid. Categories I–III must undergo pre-treatment, and the contracting authority seeks to maximise material recycling. The estimated annual quantities are approximately 4,000 tonnes of mixed category I–III waste wood and 375 tonnes of category IV waste wood, but the authority does not guarantee that these quantities will be handed over. The contractor must properly handle all waste wood entrusted to it. It must provide at least 12 compliant containers, each with a minimum capacity of 36 m³, at the waste management centre. Within two working days of notification that containers are full, the contractor must collect them and replace them with empty containers. Exchanges may take place during the centre’s opening hours. Initial placement of the containers must be coordinated with the authority and completed by 31 December 2026. The contract runs from 1 January to 31 December 2027, and unit prices are fixed for the full term. Bids are due by 11:00 on 23 October 2026. The bid must include the suitability declaration and price offer, plus a subcontractor schedule and consortium declaration where applicable. Bidders must demonstrate the required experience and capacity and comply with the labour-minimum and insurance requirements.
