Winter maintenance of streets and other public areas

Summary

The procurement covers winter maintenance of Ylivieska’s streets, pedestrian and cycling routes, other public areas and municipal properties. The work includes snow ploughing and, where needed, snow removal and transport, removal of compacted snow, and treatment of slippery surfaces. The work is divided into seven areas, with snow transport offered as a separate lot. Bidders may submit offers for one or more areas, but an offer for an area must cover both ploughing and anti-slip treatment. The required number and type of tractors, ploughs and gritters depend on the area. The contract covers the 2026–2027 winter season, with possible additional seasons in 2027–2028 and 2028–2029. The contractor for Area 10 will also perform the duties of lead contractor for winter maintenance across the contract. The contracting authority may order winter maintenance work outside the awarded areas from successful contractors at their submitted hourly rates, and may also order hourly work from contractors who are not selected.
