Winter maintenance and snow clearance on Krumovgrad municipal roads, 2026–2027

Summary

Krumovgrad Municipality is procuring winter road maintenance and snow clearance for local roads in six lots for the 2026–2027 winter season. The work includes keeping personnel and machinery on duty around the clock and collecting and reporting information on road conditions. Snow must be cleared, among other situations, when the snow cover exceeds 5 cm, as well as during drifting snow, compacted snow or slush. Roads must be sanded when there is ice, frost or slippery conditions. Removing materials and objects from the road area and clearing bushes that cause snowdrifts will be carried out when needed and on the contracting authority’s express instruction. The road sections in the six lots are 8.6 km, 20.3 km, 11.8 km, 9.5 km, 12.5 km and 6.8 km long, respectively. Bidders may submit offers for up to all six lots. Each contract runs from signing until 31 May 2027; the planned service period is 1 December 2026 to 31 May 2027. Offers must be submitted electronically by 5 November 2026. Each lot is evaluated using four price components: snow clearance, weighted 50%; sanding, 30%; removal of materials from the road area, 15%; and removal of bushes, 5%. Work is paid periodically after the completed work has been accepted, generally within 10 days. Before signing the contract, the successful bidder must provide a performance guarantee equal to 0.5% of the estimated value of the relevant lot, excluding VAT.
