Archaeological potential survey for the Kuopio 2050 master plan

Summary

The procurement is for an archaeological potential preliminary survey to support the Kuopio 2050 master plan, covering all of Kuopio’s land area, approximately 3,242 km²; water areas are excluded. The work includes analysis of the antiquities register, archival records and other available source material, archival research into historical-period sites, and analysis of historic maps and terrain models. Based on the findings, the contractor must recommend and justify areas requiring archaeological inventories and also provide these as spatial data in the ETRS89/GK27FIN coordinate system. The deliverables are an accessible report suitable for publication in Word and PDF, plus records for identified sites or areas. Field visits are not normally included; any necessary visits must be agreed in writing with the contracting authority and are charged at the additional-work hourly rate. The bidder must propose a project manager and deputy and, where relevant, other team members, provide evidence of the required experience and references, and submit a preliminary work plan, prices and completed forms. Bids are evaluated using the total price for the work and the additional-work hourly rate, weighted 80% and 20% respectively. Bids are due by 12:00 on 28 October 2026, and the report must be completed by 28 February 2027.
