Dynamic Purchasing System for Medication Safety Training in Education and Childcare

The City of Helsinki’s Education Division is establishing a dynamic purchasing system for medication training services for education and childcare staff. Providers must be able to deliver both basic medication training for staff with no previous medication training and medication-permit training for education and childcare staff, including staff with a practical nurse background. Both types of training must be available in Finnish and Swedish, with an online option. The basic training must follow the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health’s Safe Medication Guide and prepare staff to administer basic medication by natural routes. Medication-permit training must cover subcutaneous injections, including insulin, and PKV and N medicines. The employer arranges the permits and competency demonstrations.
