Casares Town Council is offering five municipal apartments for rent by competitive application in the El Chaparral building in Puerto de la Cruz: four one-bedroom apartments (34.38–34.80 m²) and one two-bedroom apartment (44.08 m²). The monthly bill, including property tax and community charges, is €155.63, €199.65, €155.63, €158.82 and €160.09 respectively. The lease begins with a one-year term and is mandatorily renewable by the municipality in annual periods up to a total of five years. Rent is payable during the first five days of each month; before signing, the tenant must pay a deposit equal to one month's rent. The tenant also pays for water, waste collection, gas and electricity. Applicants must be at least 18, lack suitable housing as a household, meet a connection requirement for Casares, have household income for the previous year no greater than 2.5 times IPREM, and demonstrate social vulnerability through a report issued by the municipal social services for this allocation procedure. The required local connection is either at least one year of residence registration, at least one year of continuous employment in the municipality, or a family connection: the applicant or a first-degree relative must have been born in or lived in the municipality for more than 10 years. Priority is given to young people under 35, older people and single-parent families with dependent children. One-bedroom apartments are preferentially intended for young people or older people, and the two-bedroom apartment for a single-parent family headed by a woman. Other applicants who meet the requirements may also apply. Apartments are allocated using a social points system. Only one signed application may be submitted per household, selecting either the one-bedroom or two-bedroom category. Applications are due within 15 calendar days from the day after publication of the contract notice.
