Technical building-services design: electrical systems and lifts, operating theatre expansion and creation of 16 intermediate care beds
Summary
The tender concerns technical building-services design for the DRK Clinics’ Westend hospital in Berlin, covering electrical systems, communications and information systems, and lifts and other conveying equipment. The assignment covers design phases 2–8 and supports the expansion of the central operating theatre by two operating rooms, the creation of a 16-bed intermediate care unit, and upgrades to operating theatres to meet medical IT requirements. The construction budget for the project is €25,530,000 gross, including VAT and a 10% contingency allowance. The designer must, among other tasks, assess existing technical systems, develop technical solutions, prepare cost and schedule information, and coordinate with other designers and project management. The work must be planned around an operating hospital; on-site attendance is required at the Westend location, as is supervision of demolition work at the Berlin Mitte location. The contract will be awarded in stages, and bidders must quote a fixed lump sum. The bid must be submitted electronically in German by 16 October 2026. The contract is not divided into lots, and alternative bids are not permitted. The contracting authority plans to begin the services in calendar week 45 of 2026. The evaluation criteria, including the fee, proposed project team and its personal references, are specified in the award-criteria matrix in the tender documents.
