Central German Suburban Rail Network II

Summary

The State of Saxony-Anhalt, together with the local public transport authority for the Leipzig region, is procuring regional passenger rail services in central Germany. The core scope is approximately 7.3 million train kilometres per year on lines S 2, S 7, S 8, RE 13, RB 51 and RE 14. The contract may also include additional services on lines RB 52 and S 22, more frequent hourly service on part of RB 51, and service in the 2046 timetable year; these optional services are planned to start between December 2031 and December 2032.
