Open-space planning for the U5 extension at Frankfurter Berg
Summary
The contract concerns open-space planning services for the extension of Frankfurt’s U5 tram line between Preungesheim and Frankfurter Berg. The approximately 1.5 km extension will include two intermediate stations and a new terminus; streets, pavements and cycle paths will also be reorganised alongside the route. The design must provide high-quality street greenery and some green track sections, address climate adaptation, preserve existing street trees and include new tree planting. The estimated construction-cost framework is €2,216,035, rounded to €2,220,000. The initial services cover design phases 1–4; phases 5–7 and 8–9 are optional. The anticipated service period is 2 December 2026 to 31 December 2035. Price is the sole award criterion and carries 100% of the weighting. Bidders must meet specific turnover, registration, reference-project and team-qualification requirements. Bids must be submitted electronically, signed and in German by 2 November 2026 at 10:00; they must remain valid for 29 days. Variants and multiple bids are not permitted.
