Clinker Brick Facade Works

Summary

The procurement covers construction of the clinker-brick facade for the HU “Optobiologie” research building at Philippstrasse 13 in Berlin. The work includes installing insulation, laying and pointing the brick facing, facade anchors and supports, sealing joints, forming and covering openings, and installing concrete facade elements and their fixings. The scope also includes shop and installation drawings, structural calculations, samples and documentation. Example bill quantities include 1,645 m² of brick facing and 1,745 m² of 200 mm mineral-wool insulation. The contractor must submit a cost breakdown for all unit prices, generally attend weekly site meetings and keep daily site records for each working day. The contractor is also responsible for matters including work scheduling and submitting plans, maintaining sufficient staffing on site, handling materials and waste, and providing properly substantiated invoices.
