Relocation of the physical heritage collection
Summary
The tender covers the Koninklijke Bibliotheek’s one-off relocation of its physical heritage collection to a new book warehouse, together with incidental internal and external movements throughout the year. The one-off relocation covers approximately 125 linear kilometres of library collections and special items. It is a single-supplier framework agreement with an initial term of 4 years and three possible one-year extensions, for a total of up to 7 years. The estimated value is EUR 4,160,000. Tenders must be submitted by 19 October 2026 at 12:00. The bidder must be able to handle and transport sensitive heritage materials, provide suitably trained and experienced staff, maintain certified quality and environmental management, and use compliant vehicles and packing materials. The bidder must be able to scale up to 20,000 objects per day, use vehicles up to 12 metres long and 4 metres high, and arrange dry and secure unloading. The award criteria are price 15%, the operational plan for the one-off relocation 60%, the operational plan for incidental movements 15%, and sustainability and social responsibility 10%; the presentation criterion has a 0% weighting.
