Processing of the Government’s Single Stream of Hazardous Waste

Summary

The tender concerns the collection, transport and processing of the Dutch government’s single stream of hazardous waste throughout the Netherlands, including the Wadden Islands. The scope includes collection from central collection points, removal and processing, the sale or rental of collection containers, and administrative processing of invoices. The estimated four-year volume is approximately 12,000,000 kg of hazardous waste, 44,000 purchased and 10,500 rented collection units, and 100 hours of technical environmental adviser services; approximately 2,000,000 kg of additional waste may also arise. The contract starts on 1 January 2027 for three years, with a possible one-year extension. Tenders must be submitted by 22 September 2026 at 10:00. Quality accounts for 70% and price for 30%; quality includes recycling, processing into marketable raw materials, CO2 emissions and transparency of the processing chain.
