Pirkanmaa Regional Crematorium – New Construction

Summary

The tender is for the complete construction of a new regional crematorium for Pirkanmaa at Vatiala Cemetery in Kangasala, next to the existing crematorium. The works cover building construction, heating, plumbing and ventilation, as well as electrical and automation works. The selected contractor will act as the main contractor and statutory principal contractor, responsible for site management and coordination. The client is procuring the cremation furnaces and filter equipment, cold rooms and certain other equipment separately; the main contractor must coordinate their installation and schedule and provide the required ancillary works. The planned contract period is 10 months. Work may begin after contract signature, but not before 20 January 2027, and is conditional on obtaining the building permit, a final environmental permit and the permit required for crematorium operations, as well as a decision to proceed with the project. Bids will be compared by the lowest comparison price, calculated from the total contract price plus the sum derived from the requested hourly rates and comparison hours in the price form. Bidders must attend one mandatory site visit (1 October 2026 or 2 October 2026 at 12:00), submit the required company and site manager references, evidence of a credit rating of at least A, information supporting average turnover of at least EUR 1,000,000, and contractor-obligation documents no more than three months old. The bid must be submitted by the deadline in the contract notice with the completed forms, total price excluding VAT and requested hourly rates. During performance, the contractor must meet the tender documents’ quality, safety, cleanliness and moisture-management requirements; construction products generally need CE marking and M1 classification.
