Installation and operation of skating rinks for Almería’s 2026/2027 Christmas festivities

Summary

The City of Almería is granting temporary authorisation to install, operate and remove natural-ice skating rinks on public land for the 2026/2027 Christmas season: an adult rink of at least 350 m² and a children’s rink of at least 50 m², together with a canopy, barriers, festive decorations, customer-service facilities and ticket booths. The site is the Almadrabillas esplanade or a similar location designated by the City. The authorised operator will be responsible for installation, ticket sales, customer service and access control, issuing and collecting skates, instruction, safety, maintenance and dismantling. The planned operating period is 25 November 2026 to 6 January 2027; if the City’s Christmas opening takes place later, operation begins on that date. Installation may start after the authorisation is formalised, but not before 2 November 2026, and the site must be restored to its original condition by 19 January 2027 at the latest. Offers are scored on the basis of the canon payable to the City (up to 70 points), reduced ticket prices (up to 20 points) and free figure-skating performances (up to 10 points). The minimum canon is €6,001.77. Maximum ticket prices are €8 for a 25-minute adult session and €15 for 50 minutes; children’s sessions are capped at €6 and €9 respectively. Price reductions of up to 5% for each ticket type and duration earn points. Performance points are awarded for each three free performances, up to a maximum of 15 performances. A child using the children’s rink must be accompanied by at least one adult who has paid for a ticket. Applicants must submit a technically viable solution, demonstrate financial and technical capacity, and plan for the required staff and equipment. The successful applicant must provide a €2,000 definitive guarantee and the required plans, studies, permits, and safety, electrical, refrigeration and sound-system documents. Offers must be submitted electronically within 15 calendar days of publication of the contract notice.
