Collection and care of abandoned dogs in municipalities across Burgos province

The tender covers the collection, transport, boarding and care of abandoned dogs for municipalities in Burgos province that have joined the provincial cooperation agreement. The service includes veterinary assessment and necessary treatment, feeding, sterilisation before adoption, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment, essential surgery and arranging adoptions. One contractor will provide the integrated service for an initial term of two years, with annual extensions of up to two additional years. For multiple dogs collected in the same locality during one trip, each additional dog from the second onwards costs €70; the fee for a group of puppies under four months collected on one trip is €220. Collection must take place within 72 hours of notification. Prospective adopters must be given at least two hours of visiting time each week, and the adoption website must be updated weekly. Bidders must have an authorised animal facility in Burgos province with at least 200 m² of space and capacity for at least 30 dogs, as well as suitable staff and a transport vehicle. Professional civil-liability insurance of at least €220,000 is required. Comparable services carried out during the previous three years must have a cumulative value of at least €38,181.82 in the bidder’s highest-performing year. The bid must include the required bidder declarations; the proposed awardee must provide the facility authorisation and supporting description and lodge a final guarantee of 5% of the contract award value excluding VAT. Price is worth up to 85 points; faster collection, more accommodation space and longer visiting hours can each earn up to 5 additional points.
