Supply and installation of a new modular electrical system for a data center

Summary

The tender concerns the supply and installation of a new modular electrical system for the Donostia International Physics Center data center. The contractor must provide and commission a new electrical cabinet, busbars and a modular UPS, including the necessary cabling, protection devices, fuses and other components. The system must connect to the building’s 1,250 kVA supply. Six busbars are required for three rows of computer racks, with one busbar per row connected to the UPS. The initial installation must support 14 three-phase PDU connections and 14 single-phase connections for seven racks, while the busbar system must cover the complete three-row configuration. The UPS must be modular and expandable to at least 350 kVA in the future; the initial installed capacity must provide 10–15 minutes of autonomy. The PDUs and the supercomputer racks themselves are excluded from the procurement. The contract is open and currently listed with a deadline of 30 September 2026. Awarding is based on the best quality-price relationship. The price, initial UPS capacity and additional warranty period are evaluated in the formula-based part of the tender. The minimum warranty period is three years. Bids must be submitted electronically in the required parts, and the contractor must comply with technical, labour, occupational safety, social security, insurance, confidentiality and data protection obligations. Interested bidders may request a site visit within five working days of publication; attendance is limited to two people per company.
