Annual maintenance and calibration of scales of various types

Summary

The contract covers annual maintenance and calibration, at the contracting authority’s premises, of 103 scales used by the Federal Highway Research Institute. Of these, 50 must be calibrated in accordance with DAkkS requirements and 53 to the manufacturer's standard. The first service is due in January 2027; thereafter, all scales must be serviced each January within a period of one to two weeks. The contractor must prepare maintenance records, keep the scale register up to date, and record any defects found and repairs needed. The work also includes preparing 50 inspection reports and 50 DAkkS certificates. Minor repairs may be carried out during maintenance up to a total value of 20% of the annual contract amount. Larger repairs require a quotation in advance and may be carried out only with the contracting authority’s prior approval and separate order.
