Motion sensors for fall detection in clinical settings

Summary

Frankfurt University Hospital is procuring a sensor-based system to detect falls and other movement events in a clinical setting, including delivery, installation, commissioning, integration and multi-year operation. The system includes room-based radar and/or infrared or thermal sensors without optical image recording, central analysis and alarm software with a dashboard, and interfaces to hospital information and nurse-call systems. Deployment is planned across seven wards with 11 rooms each, beginning with a pilot, and includes staff training, support, maintenance and further development.
