Reinforcement of the North Sea Terminal crane girder

Summary

The Port of Antwerp-Bruges is procuring reinforcement works for the waterside crane girder at the North Sea Container Terminal in Antwerp, to accommodate heavier container cranes. The works comprise approximately 2,400 down-the-hole drilled holes, each 120 mm in diameter, with anchor rods installed and secured in them, as well as limited preparatory excavation and sawing and finishing formwork and concrete work. The terminal will remain operational, so the works will be carried out in smaller work zones; the planned duration is 12 months.
