Design and construction of the ETCS L2 system on the Varín–Vrútky railway section

Summary

The contract covers the design and implementation of ETCS Level 2 Baseline 3 or a later version on the railway section between Varín and Vrútky freight station, including integration with the existing railway infrastructure. The contractor will prepare the design and as-built documentation, carry out the required construction works, arrange permits and property-related matters, and obtain the documents needed for the works to be put into service. The solution must comply with current interoperability requirements, support backward compatibility with ETCS Baseline 2 and 3, and minimise disruption to railway operations and changes to existing infrastructure. The estimated contract value is EUR 29,400,390. Bids will be evaluated on price (85 points) and the overall completion period (15 points); the period must not exceed 820 calendar days. A EUR 120,000 tender guarantee is required, and bids must be submitted electronically through JOSEPHINE by 18 November 2026 at 10:00.
