Work Accident Insurance 2027

Summary

The tender is for workplace accident insurance for the employees of the local health authority serving Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde, for 2027, from 1 January to 31 December. Cover must include workplace accidents and accidents on the journey to or from work, as well as business travel and work activities abroad for periods of up to 30 days. Coverage also includes, among other things, blood-exposure incidents, necessary medical treatment and, where needed, repatriation from abroad. In the event of temporary incapacity, permanent disability or death, 70% of full salary is insured. The estimated annual payroll is EUR 30,000,000. Bidders must be insurers legally authorised to conduct insurance business; brokers and intermediaries are not eligible. No minimum technical or financial capacity requirements are set. The offer must state the total premium and describe the coverage, exclusions, deductible, commercial rate and payment terms. Price is the sole award criterion, and the offer must not exceed EUR 222,375 excluding VAT. The submission deadline is 30 October 2026 at 18:00; offers must remain valid for 180 days. Offers must be submitted electronically in Portuguese through the VORTAL platform and bear a qualified electronic signature. No bid security is required.
