Preparation and delivery of meals for patients of Pasłęk County Hospital

Summary

The contract covers preparing and delivering meals to patients of Pasłęk County Hospital for 12 months from contract signing. The estimated volume is 19,800 patient-days over 12 months, or an average of 4,950 meals per month; actual quantities and diet types may change with the hospital’s needs. The contractor must develop balanced, varied menus in cooperation with a dietitian and provide regular and easily digestible meals, including liver/pancreatic, diabetic, dairy-free, high-protein or protein-restricted diets, and puréed or blended meals when requested. Each meal must include fruit or vegetables. Menus must state portion weight, ingredients, energy and nutritional values, and allergens, and must be supplied at least two working days before they take effect. Meals must be delivered twice daily to the hospital’s two distribution points in suitable, labelled packaging. The contractor must keep a record of meals issued and wash and disinfect reusable transport containers. The service must comply with food safety, food sampling and storage, and hospital catering requirements. Staff whose duties, particularly cooking, meet the legal definition of employment must be employed under employment contracts. The contract runs for up to 12 months or until its maximum value is exhausted; the hospital may adjust the actual volume, but the guaranteed minimum is 60% of the contract value. Price is the sole award criterion. Participation requires, among other things, evidence of the specified catering experience, civil liability insurance of at least PLN 500,000, and a current positive sanitary inspector’s opinion authorising meal preparation and transport.
