Preparation, delivery and transfer of meals to hospital wards and immediate collection of post-consumption waste
Summary
The contract covers preparing, delivering and transferring meals to hospital ward kitchens, as well as collecting post-consumption food waste. The service will run for 12 months on every day of the week; the estimated average is 100 patients per day, with a +/- 10% variation. Breakfast must be delivered at 07:20, lunch at 12:30 and dinner at 18:30; dinner may be delivered together with lunch provided that the temperature requirements are met. The bidder must be able to prepare various hospital diets and ensure the required temperatures, labelled transport containers, food samples, emergency food supplies, hot tea and proper waste handling. Every diet must be capable of being served in pureed form where required. Tenders will be evaluated on price (90%) and the kettle contribution, meaning the food-cost component (10%); the kettle contribution must represent 60–70% of the total price.
