Battery energy storage system with local Edge EMS for grid congestion management
Summary
Waterschap Rijn en IJssel is procuring a complete battery energy storage system (BESS) with local Edge EMS and an EMS/SCADA connection to manage grid congestion at wastewater treatment plant sites. The initial supply is for Lichtenvoorde, with an indicative usable capacity of about 300 kWh and at least 60 kW of power; systems for Aalten, Nieuwgraaf, Holten and Etten may be ordered later under the agreement. The supply includes delivery, installation, commissioning and maintenance; electrical connection, civil preparation, network cabling and the network switch are outside the supplier’s scope. The agreement runs for three years, with up to four one-year extensions.
