Renewal of the Van Brienenoord Bridge – contract 2: construction of the new western arch

Summary

The procurement concerns an engineering and construction contract for building the new western arch of the Van Brienenoord Bridge in Rotterdam. The contractor must develop the provided DO+ design into execution design, manage and fabricate the preserved steel structure, assemble the bridge at the Circulaire Werf Duivelseiland, and coordinate interfaces with the other bridge contracts. Transport of the new arch to the bridge site is outside the scope. The works are planned for 2027–2030. This is a competitive dialogue, with a maximum of four candidates invited to the dialogue. Participation requests must be submitted electronically by 7 October 2026 at 15:00; invited tenderers must submit their tenders by 12 April 2027 at 15:00. The contract is awarded on the basis of the best price-quality ratio, taking account of robust planning, risk management and the CO2 ambition level.
