Direction of the Josep Pla Collection and Coordination of a Graphic Novel Series
Summary
The contract covers editorial direction and coordination for two publishing series produced by the Provincial Council of Girona: the Josep Pla series of literary and journalistic works, and the Llamps i tintes! comics and graphic-novel series. The contractor will assess publication proposals for Josep Pla, prepare its annual publishing programme with the advisory council and the contracting authority, oversee and edit publications in both series, and help assess projects submitted to the graphic-novel competition. The planned output is 2–4 Josep Pla titles and one Llamps i tintes! volume per year. The work includes reviewing up to 10 Josep Pla publication proposals and an average of 10 competition projects, preparing and reporting on the advisory council’s two annual meetings, and taking part in up to five book launches and one additional event each year. The contract runs for two years, expected to start on 1 February 2027, with one possible two-year extension. The maximum budget is €26,000 excluding VAT, and the hourly price must not exceed €117 excluding VAT. The bid must include a technical proposal of no more than six pages; it must score at least 13 out of 26 points to remain in the competition. Key deadlines include 30 working days to analyse publication proposals and submit the related report, up to 10 working days to review page proofs, up to 3 working days to review printer’s proofs, and delivery of annual reports before 15 December. Bidders must demonstrate the required financial and technical capacity and assign at least one editor with at least three years of relevant professional experience and a university degree in literature, humanities or journalism, or an equivalent qualification. The highest-ranked bidder must provide supporting evidence before contract award, and the successful bidder must provide a final guarantee of €1,300.
