Sale of two S254 locomotives and their spare parts

Summary

This is a sale of assets by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), divided into three lots: Lot 1 is an operational S254.01 locomotive; Lot 2 is an S254.03 locomotive with its diesel engine removed but intact, and currently unable to run; Lot 3 comprises spare parts for S254 locomotives. The purchaser acquires the selected assets and arranges and pays for their removal, loading, transport and related procedures. The locomotives are located at FGC’s Martorell operating centre. The minimum bid prices, exempt from VAT, are EUR 117,332.80 for Lot 1, EUR 94,332.00 for Lot 2 and EUR 13,759.30 for Lot 3, or EUR 225,424.10 in total. A separate bid must be made for each lot and must exceed its reserve price. Price is the sole award criterion, and the participant offering the highest price wins. Bids may cover one or several lots. Bidders must demonstrate the required financial standing and, for Lots 1 and 2, state the proposed subsequent use and destination of the locomotive. The assets are expected to become available within a maximum of 14 weeks after contract signing. Once FGC confirms that the assets can be collected, one locomotive must be removed within 30 days, both locomotives if bought by the same purchaser within 45 days, and spare parts within 30 days. The purchaser must provide a contract guarantee of 5% and civil liability insurance of at least EUR 200,000 for each locomotive lot or EUR 20,000 for the spare-parts lot. Subcontracting is not permitted.
