Works concession for the Colmenar Viejo environmental complex and operation of waste-treatment infrastructure

Summary

The tender covers construction and operation of the Colmenar Viejo environmental complex and management of the Northwest municipalities’ waste-treatment infrastructure, including transfer stations. Facilities include, among others, the existing landfill and recycling centre, new treatment facilities for residual and organic municipal waste, bulky waste and refuse-derived fuel, a green-waste composting plant, and an animal-waste incinerator. The concessionaire must design and carry out the investments specified in the tender documents and operate, maintain and keep the facilities in good condition throughout the concession. It bears significant construction and operational market, demand, availability and technology risks.
