Translation services in multiple languages for Paradores’ central services

Summary

The procurement covers direct and reverse translation services for the central services of Paradores de Turismo de España into and from English, French, German, Basque, Catalan, Valencian and Galician. Materials include reports, documents, brochures, advertisements, web pages, restaurant letters and menus, as well as other communications. Content may concern tourism, accommodation, food, culture, history, and the company’s commercial, technical or legal activities. All translations must be produced by qualified human professionals; generative artificial intelligence and machine translation are prohibited. Translations must be complete, accurate, natural in the target language and properly proofread. Where required, web content is entered directly into Paradores’ content management system, and all work is retained in a reusable translation memory. Standard translations are due within 48 hours. Urgent translations are due the same day, or the following morning if requested after midday. Weekends and public holidays are excluded from these time limits. Service must be available throughout the year, including holiday periods. The contract lasts one year and may be expressly extended four times for one year each. The estimated annual value is EUR 99,247.50 excluding VAT; the estimated total value including possible extensions is EUR 496,237.50 excluding VAT. The financial offer must cover every service and quote prices per word and per review hour. Maximum unit prices for all seven listed languages are EUR 0.125 per word for standard direct translation into Spanish and EUR 0.135 for urgent work; EUR 0.140 and EUR 0.145 respectively for reverse translation; EUR 0.155 for sworn direct translation and EUR 0.175 for sworn reverse translation; and EUR 55 per hour for text review. Prices exclude VAT. The bidder must demonstrate annual turnover of at least EUR 145,000 and at least two comparable translation services, each worth at least EUR 45,000. Translators must hold suitable qualifications, have at least seven years’ relevant experience and be native speakers of their respective target languages. The contract manager must have participated in at least two multilingual translation projects for multinational companies during the previous three years. The technical offer must include a work-method statement and the translation test specified in the tender documents. Technical quality and price each account for 50 points. The offer must be submitted electronically for all services, with the required documents and price information placed in their designated separate sections.
