Summary

The procurement covers a single comprehensive material damage insurance policy for all movable and immovable property of the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Oncológicas Carlos III (CNIO). The policy must indemnify direct material damage to insured property caused by sudden, accidental and unforeseen events, except for risks expressly excluded by the policy. Insured sums are EUR 34,000,000 for buildings and installations and EUR 96,500,000 for contents, totalling EUR 130,500,000. The maximum indemnity limit is EUR 70,000,000. At a minimum, the policy must cover fire, lightning, explosion, weather and water damage, vandalism, theft, machinery and electronic equipment breakdown, and various additional expenses. The general excess may be no more than EUR 900; the maximum is EUR 3,000 for electrical damage and machinery or electronic equipment breakdown, and EUR 300 for glass damage and theft. Bidders may offer improved excess terms. Co-insurance bids are also permitted. The contract runs for 12 months, with an option to extend for up to 12 months. The budget for 12 months is EUR 64,000; insurance transactions are VAT-exempt. The estimated total value including the possible extension is EUR 128,000. The procurement is not divided into lots, and price is the sole award criterion. Bidders must demonstrate the required turnover and comparable service experience and hold the insurance authorisation required to operate in Spain. The successful bidder must provide a definitive guarantee of 5% of the award amount.
