Sorolla Exhibition Museographic Installation, Artwork Installation and Maintenance

Summary

The procurement covers the museographic production and installation of artworks for the Sorolla Collection exhibition at the Valencia City Museum, together with nine months of maintenance from the exhibition opening. The work includes preparing and repairing the galleries; manufacturing and installing joinery structures and exhibition furniture; painting; producing custom mounts and frames; adapting the lighting, including supplying 15 compatible spotlights; and producing and installing exhibition graphics and signage. The contractor will prepare artwork supports and fixings, assist the transport contractor with installation, and complete the exhibition installation of works after restoration or framing. Artwork transport, restoration work and final dismantling of the exhibition are outside this contract. Work will take place in the ground-floor and first-floor galleries of the Valencia City Museum. The galleries and structures must be ready to receive the first artworks by 30 November 2026; work is scheduled to start on 10 November 2026, and the exhibition is planned to open in the last week of February 2027, with the exact date to be confirmed. Each artwork delivery must acclimatise for at least 72 hours before opening, and the conservator must expressly authorise opening. Maintenance lasts nine months from opening and includes regular inspection and repairs, paint touch-ups at least every 15 days, replacement of spotlights and showcase LED strips when needed, and round-the-clock availability of a contact person. The maximum tender price is €195,000 excluding VAT, or €235,950 including 21% VAT. The procurement has one lot and uses an open procedure. Of the 100 evaluation points, quality accounts for 51 and price for 49. Quality criteria cover work organisation (10 points), technical solutions (5) and the work schedule (10). Automatic criteria award points for the coordinator's experience beyond the five-year minimum (5 points for each additional full year, up to 20) and the promised on-site response time during maintenance (4 hours = 0, 3 hours = 3, 2 hours = 6 points). Bidders must submit a technical work plan and schedule, suitable personnel and resources, and evidence of the required qualifications, experience and turnover. Low-emission water-based paints and lacquers and timber certified under FSC, PEFC or an equivalent sustainable forestry scheme are also required.
